In addition, we are especially grateful to receive books published before 1850, which sensibly augment the seriously damaged historical collection of the Herzogin Anna Amalia Library. Contact
Thanks Chief Patron: German President Horst Köhler The national government of Germany, represented by the State Minister Dr. Christina Weiss, the government authority responsible for culture and media, made an immediate aid fund of 4 million Euros available after the fire. The State of Thuringia allocated a sum of 5 million Euros to be used for the reconstruction of the book collection during the period from 2005 until 2009.
